Simple Machine Project for 5th Grade

All the 5th graders had to create a machine the conclusion of their simple machines unit. The machine had to have at least two simple machines in it.
Logan made a fly swatter.
Logan used the lever, a pulley, wheel and axle, wedge, inclined plane, and screw.
You pull the truck down the hill, which pulls the spool of thread next to the truck. The thread turns the spool and then he used rubber bands to transfer the energy to another axle with a cam on it. The cam hits the end of the flyswatter and lifts it up. The flyswatter's own weight makes it go down (that is what makes it a lever).

Are flies willing to sit still long enough to get hit? It's a great looking machine! Good work, Logan
