When Jansen was studying for his A.P. History test last month I pulled out this little book that I had bought to help me memorize all of the Presidents of the United States (for some reason, I never had to do this in school).
It was so fun and easy, that the little boys picked up the book and started memorizing them too. I issued a challenge: Memorize the Presidents in order and get a slice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.
Jansen, Logan 11, J.B. 8 and Soren 6 all achieved this goal in a very short amount of time. They enjoyed their cheesecake (all except Soren who realized that he doesn't like Cheesecake and felt pretty gyped.)
If you want your kids to memorize the presidents, I recommend this book; it makes it so fun and easy that even a 5 year old could easily memorize them.
Here you see J.B. reciting the presidents, with interjections thrown in by Soren and Logan when they feel like he's pausing too long. Don't get confused and think that Soren or Logan are Presidents, because J.B. takes them to task in the midst of his recitation.
For those of you who know my brother, Brigham, doesn't J.B. remind you of Uncle Brigham as a boy?

Very cool! I think I'm going to get that book so I can finally memorize my presidents!
I have a suggestion for a future blog post. You should tell what your kid's middle names mean. I knew a few of them at one time, but I see these cute pictures and names on your blog, and it makes me wonder again!
