Memorial Day

How did we spend our Memorial Day?
Lachlan went on his first canoe ride.
Our canoers prepare to embark on the Charles River.

This is the last time you'll see Lachlan in the boat. We can't see him over the edge on the "in the water pictures"."
We saw a mother duck with 12 cutest little babies.
And we saw the biggest water turtle we'd ever seen.
Jansen, J.B., Soren, and I were in the 2nd canoe.
Here are our first huge radishes that we picked. We were so amazed that we took these pictures.
This radish, however took the cake. It was the size of a small potato. Unreal! The radishes must have really liked that lobster mulch and fertilizer we put on them!
Logan and I went to the gardening store and bought these great hanging flower baskets.
We planted about 15 different varities of tomatoes next to our lettuce, onions, peas, radishes and beets.
Logan inspects our strawberries.
Logan is my "outdoor" helper. He LOVES to work outside. Logan re-rototilled this entire area, and then he and I spent hours planting beans, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, tomatoes, melons, pumpkins, zuchinni, cucumbers, and yellow squash. We've already been eating tons of lettuce and radishes and a few onions. We are so excited for our garden this year!
Our herb garden.
The over all look. We've tried to grow new lawn on the left portion of the sidewalk, but the place where our maple tree was removed is not looking very fertile!
We have garden on the section behind the lawn, plus to the right of Logan, all around that side of the porch, and around the house, in an L-shape.
