One of our best kept secrets is to go to one of the major Boston Museums on Early Release Day. Our School District is the only district in the state to have early release dates on the days we do (about once a month) and so when we get to the museum around 12:30 or 1:00 it is TOTALLY empty. We have the place to ourselves.
Awesome Museum + no crowds = Pure bliss
J.B. covers his ears while I say words to him like "peach" and "beach" to let him experience the challenges behind lip reading.

This disabilities display was a new one; At this station the kids had to use different tools to accomplish the goals of putting a ball through the holes in the board. My favorite tool was the helmet with a ladle screwed on it.
Lachlan looks out the windows at the Boston Harbor.
This large floor plays music and the floor panels light up. You can dance, or play a variety of games. These boys are playing a game where they try to step on the lights in their color before they disappear. It made for some fancy footwork.
I want a floor like this in our house. Wouldn't that be fun?
J.B. learns how challenging it is to open and shut a door on a ramp while you're manuevering a wheelchair.
We took two of Logan's friends with us, Collins and Alan. Collins is our "Metco" boy which means that he comes home with Logan most early release days for a playdate. Collins lives in Boston and gets bussed in to school (over an hour bus ride each way), so he doesn't get as many opportunities to play with his schoolmates as the kids that live nearby.
Alan is from Brazil and is moving back this summer.
