Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me!

Last Friday I went to the eye doctor for a red and inflamed eye. He said I'd gotten some construction debris in my eye which had scratched the cornea. Closer inspection showed that there was a tiny cookie cutter piece missing from my cornea. I hoped it was a festive cookie cutter shape--like a gingerbread boy or a Christmas tree.
I had a bad reaction to the eye-drop antibiotics, so I wasn't able to take those more than twice. My eye would NOT stay open. It was so light sensitive. It was pretty darn sore for about 4 days.

James made this lovely pirate patch for me to wear to church on Sunday. I topped off the look with sunglasses.
And let's face it, who hasn't wanted to wear a pirate patch to church?
I'm feeling mostly better now.
But I will admit to walking into an open car door (my vision was impaired, what can I say?) and loosening my two front teeth and getting a fat bloody lip.

Ahoy matees!

You pull of the pirate patch wonderfully! Hope the eye elf enjoyed his cookie at your expense, and that you are doing better!

Ouch! I hope you're feeling better now. It seems to me that eyes heal fairly quick. Has that been the case with you? I had to wear a patch just like that when I was little because I have a lazy eye that the doctor was trying to strengthen. So, I am partial to the pirate patch.

You would enjoy the novelty of an eye patch like no one I know--you are so good at "dressing up." Glad it is feeling better!
