James was able to bring a couch in from the storage pod so we had a place to sit on Christmas day. Notice how we've replaced the "oh so predictable" Christmas tree and decorations with a rather nouveau take on Christmas--the Christmas table saw.
Here are our wonderfully talented children with the talent rundown:
Lachlan: Danced for the family
Soren: Played Star Wars Imperial March on the recorder (never mind the fact that he couldn't play more than one note--he had that rhythm down.) He also made us close our eyes and look away while he played. Being on stage was too much pressure for his shy side.
J.B.: A Lego Play, all performed by lego creatures and props that he had spent a full day creating.
Logan: A trumpet Christmas piece. He handed out jingle bells to the audience before hand so that we could "play along."
Janessa: A Christmas story, especially written about and for our family. She included multiple inside jokes and personal characteristics of the family members. She had us all in stitches. It was such a funny story.
Jansen: Played a David Lanz piece on the piano.
James: Wrote a guitar song for Soren. Played a lovely guitar song for me.
Created 2 years worth of journaled notes he'd taken on Jansen, Janessa, Logan, J.B. into little books for each of them. These books included spiritual moments, funny things they said, and are very valuable pieces of their lives.
Me: I played a piano piece, particuarly selected for each member of the family. I'd been planning to do a bellydance for James, but my bellydance music was all in storage (much to the relief of the rest of the family.)

you guys are so funny--Christmas table saw--I love it!
We didn't know you had a blog 'till you left a comment on ours. We love the blogs...it is fun to see how the other half lives. Ally
You'll have to have an open house when all the work is done . . . we will plan a Boston vacation to coincide! Love your gifts to each other. Sounds like a good plan for next year.
Fantastic idea, as always. You have such talented children, who have very talented parents.
It looks like a very nice, memorable Christmas!
Christmas table saws are quite fashionable. I hear everyone will have one in the future. You are always on the cutting edge of every trend.
