Janessa had a birthday on January 18th, Sunday. She requested her favorite meal, chicken and dumplings.

We had moved out of our house for 4 days while our wood floors were being done, so we celebrated her birthday at our good friends and hospitable home sharers, the Lunds.
We had a tremendous amount of snow on her birthday--around 14 inches.
Jansen lights soooo many candles as Janessa prepares herself for the wish portion of the evening.
We had a blast telling funny stories and memories from Janessa's past. Who knew that she had done and said so many funny things?
We made her a sad little cake that was decorated by all of her little brothers.

I miss the Lund's. Could you tell them "hi" from me the next time you see them. I will always be grateful to you and them for having us in your homes for dinner.
