This was my first year that I was interested in auditioning for the school musical. I've only done one other musical/play, and that was in 7th grade for our stake (Saturday's Warrior). I was intrigued in doing this play because we are doing Music Man, and I know it pretty well.

It being my first year to try out for any school musical, I wasn't expecting too much, but I got in! woo-hoo. I don't have any major roles or anything, I'm just in the ensemble, but I'm happy with it. So, yay for music and good-bye to any hope of doing well in AP History for the next 3 months.

Congratulations on getting a part in the musical! It should be a lot of fun--that's one of my favorites, such fun music!
Awesome! You've got to let us know when it's showing. We're definitely coming to see it!

Jansen, it is such a great show, my favorite number by far is "Marion the Librarian" followed closely by "Trouble." It's hilarious. Get ready, the songs will be stuck in your head for at least a year. I just got "76 trombones" out of my head like, a year ago and I was in the play in 1995.
hey, congrats Jansen! I love that show.
Music Man was the first play I was in orch pit for - I loved it. I think that the ensemble is the most fun - you get the best scenes, fun costumes, the dancing numbers. Ah...the good ol' days. Congrats.
Good Job! I knew you'd get into the play. But I'm confused. I think that Janessa actually wrote this post even though the blog claims otherwise.
Either way, congratulations.
Also, you will have plenty of time to study during rehersals . . . if you use your time wisely.
Congratulations on the part! I was in all the school musicals in HS and as long as you use your time wisely your grades won't suffer. :) (I also had some AP classes floating around in there too) You'll do great with both! :)
