Easter

On Saturday, April 3rd, our kids joined the rest of the kids in the ward for primary's Easter Egg Hunt.

We started in the chapel with the story of why we celebrate Easter and a really nice musical number.

After that we divided in 3 groups and went into the gym to see people dressed in costumes from the time of Christ.

Mack Lund was a carpenter pretending to be from the time of Christ. He brought a lot of great wood working tools and talked to the kids about what Jesus' life might have been like growing up. Joseph was a carpenter and would have taught the trade to Jesus.

Mike Sorensen pretended to be Andrew the disciple who was present to witness the feeding of the five thousand. His basket had loaves and fishes in it (goldfish that is). He told all about witnessing that miracle and handed out some bread and fish to the kids.

Becky Wilson really brought it home. She dressed up as Mary, the sister of Lazarus and acted out the very emotional story of Lazarus dying and Jesus raising him from the dead. She was amazing.

All of the kids were so quiet while they were listening to the "Time Travelers."

James and I were supposed to go away to New Hampshire on this weekend. But we decided not go because of the basement restoration project. The primary was surprised to see me there, when I'd been telling them I wouldn't be able to attend!

Then outside we went for the Easter Egg Hunt. Kids under 3 got a head start.

We had FABULOUS weather. J.B. shows his bounty.

Soren found a few eggs too.

It was a very nice precursor to Easter--the right amount of spiritual mix and Easter bunny mix.
