J.B.'s Pinewood Derby

J.B. competed in our cub's Pinewood Derby in February. The car design was his original design.

Due to the fact that J.B.'s dad was traveling the whole week before the pinewood derby, J.B. and his dad started his car about an hour before the derby. The paint was VERY fresh.
We always encourage our kids to go for an "original" look for their car, hoping that then they won't expect their cars to actually go fast.

I thought the trophies of rootbeer bottles topped with little racecars was very cute.
J.B.'s award was "most original." And he didn't come in 3rd in every heat. He was 2nd in some of them!
