Temple Tending Day

On December 11th we welcomed 18 kids to our house to play with us and eat with us while their mums and dads went to the temple.

Soren asked, "Mom can I take a picture of all of those cute little jackets hanging on coatrack?  They're so tiny."

Charlie was great fun. James is always happy holding a baby.

Logan helped Bridger bead a bracelet.  Bridger was so polite and had the sweetest little voice.

Lachlan and Juliana make jingle bracelets as presents for their parents.

Rachael was a wonderful Young Woman helper.  She and Lily play a duet.

Ella busied herself making food in the play kitchen.

Nadia was another amazing Young Woman helper.  She and Archer really painted up a storm.

Here the whole crew enjoys some kid chow--pizza and macaroni and cheese.
One of my favorite parts about this is how much our own kids love the babies and helping take care of the little ones.  They set up different "age appropriate" stations in different parts of the house and help them through baby toys, Rescue Heroes, Geotrax, and crafts.  It's definitely an entire family endeavor!

"Mom, enough with the pictures" says Lachlan.

The "little" little kids table.  Ellis would only eat lunch if he were watching the General Conference Highlights on youtube.  Gotta love a child who is already feasting on the words of Christ while he is feasting on food.

This is what heaven feels like--babies falling asleep on me.  Pure bliss.

James and Lily actually became very good friends.  She reached for him several times which made him really happy.

Finished with the kids, Rachael gets down to making a beaded chain for her Christmas tree.
Hailey and Audrey paint.
Hailey tops her painting off with some sequins.

What a lovely gift to give--and receive. I agree with you about what heaven feels like!
