Our first snowstorm of the year brought us 16 inches of pure white fluffy funstuff. We got two full days off of school and spent a lot of time outdoors, shoveling, sledding, and playing.
I should just add that there have been two more major storms since then, each bringing an additional foot of snow so the snow banks are now 8+ feet on either side of the driveway.
This is a landscape photo, stitched together.
Our across the street neighbors' tree broke and knocked down the power line in the process.
Our crab apple tree obscuring our bench. The dogwood tree behind it broke.
This tree behind our house snapped.
Several of us were in the homework room when we saw, just 10 feet in front of us, a large branch of our hemlock tree snap off. It made a graceful, dancing sweep to the ground--very calm-like.
Lachlan makes a snow angel.
Logan wanted our little car to have a "snohawk (snow mohawk)."
J.B., snow warrior.
Megan and Lachlan shoveling the front walk-way.
The finished product!
We shoveled one car out the first day, but it took us two days to get ourselves completely shoveled out.
The snowplow took pity on us and came into our driveway a bit to help us out.
Soren, Lachlan and J.B. are kings of the mountain.
The whole family (minus Jansen) after our snow removal efforts.
We celebrated our two snow days with lots of home-baked goods--cinnamon swirl bread, homemade chicken noodle soup with big dumpling like noodles, muffins, cookies, and plenty of hot chocolate.

Your family makes everything look so fun...I am thinking, "I want to be in that family!" :)
Do these photos include the latest storm? What a winter you are having--I bet it feels like being in Syracuse again. I hope that you don't have so many snow days to make up that your kids will be in school in July.
You guys had so much fun!! I'm glad you documented it all...back when it was fun anyway...:)
