Or so said a friend, when she stopped by to see our newly finished kitchen, and saw James already tearing out the old kitchen.
James' note: in case anyone wonders why the wall is falling apart in this unusual way, you should know that our walls were built in the 1950s using the then brand new technology called wallboard, which came in 16 inch wide planks that were stacked horizontally. But they didn't plaster the surface of the wallboard directly, instead, they troweled on a 1/4 inch of cement first to make a continuous surface, then they layered on an 1/8 inch of plaster. Tearing out these walls is a mess because of the plaster and cement that has to be broken up. I did that on the front side of the wall, but once we get inside the wall, I can just pry out the nails holding the other side of the wall to the studs and give a gentle nudge to let the weight of the cement pull down the wall sections. Voila, that's how the wall comes apart in what appears such an easy fashion.

Just when I think you guys are done with your renovation you take out another wall! Amazing!
How fun! No moss, indeed. You must enjoy all this James. I'm impressed.
I love the piano practice in the background.
