We hosted 24 for Thanksgiving this year. It was our first time to prepare Thanksgiving in our new kitchen. First time to introduce 24 people to our new dining room. How was it? PURE BLISS!
Mack offers Maha some sweet potatoes. This is becoming a running joke each year. Maha grew up in Germany, and they don't do "sweet" there for dinner. She never has become a fan of sweet potatoes or pumpkin pie.
Our across the street neighbors, Ted Lu and Yan Yuan.
Me and James--host and hostess.
Not pictured are Zachary Lu, J.B., Soren, and Lachlan. They all ate really quickly and took off to play computer games and install viruses on our computers.
At the last moment we were joined by Harry and Lucy. They are both out here attending school and Harry's mom called a friend of ours to ask if Harry and his girlfriend could join them for Thanksgiving. The friend was in Maine, so he called us to see if we'd have enough room, enough food, and if we'd be able to drive to Allston to get them. Mack did the driving, we brought in a bigger table, and as you'll see below there was no shortage of food.
Harry is studying Biology. Lucy is from Brazil, studying Fashion Design. Harry worked as a chef and had planned to make Thanksgiving dinner for the two of them, but didn't do any shopping for it until Thanksgiving day.
That's when he discovered that by law, all food stores are closed on Thanksgiving. Massachusetts is VERY serious about honoring the sanctity of Thanksgiving.
I'm grateful for good friends, happy and healthy family, a job in this economy, a house I love, membership in the gospel.

24 people in a dining room. Bliss indeed!
What great hosts you are--I'm sure everyone felt very welcome in your home--whatever the size it has always had a welcoming spirit--there's just more room now for that spirit to spread out and touch more people.
